About

I am an English PhD Candidate at the University of Miami researching nineteenth-century radical print and its intersections with seriality. My academic interests are at the intersection of nineteenth-century radical print and serial media, with further interest in television studies, digital humanities, and new media. Currently, I am working on my dissertation project tentatively titled “‘Broken Time’: Serial Temporality in Nineteenth-Century Radical Print.” The dissertation examines how radical writers and publishers in the nineteenth century mobilized serial publication formats to experiment with non-linear temporalities and challenge conceptualizations of progressive or linear time.

At the University of Miami, I have served as the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Digital Humanities UGrow Fellow, where I have worked alongside Dr. Kelly Baker Josephs to build Manchineel + Seagrape, an open-access digital publishing platform dedicated to Caribbean drama. Beginning in Fall 2025, I will serve as the Graduate Student Fellow for Anthurium: A Caribbean Studies Journal. I am also the creator and project lead for the Radical Periodical Index, a digital archive for the Chicago-based Anarchist periodical “The Alarm.”

Background and Academic History

I received my BA in English at Florida International University and my MA in English at the University of Miami. Additionally, I am an HSI Pathways to the Professoriate Mellon Fellow.

I worked as a temporary instructor, English literature teacher, and AICE Media Studies teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools from 2017-2021.
